Description
Enamel paint is a decorative method that China transplanted towards porcelain crafts following its introduction from abroad. It is a unique method in that it mixes rich colors, embellishing and furthering the beauty of the porcelain. This gaiwan is decorated with enamel-painted flowers representing prosperity. The color of the glaze is full and even, while the three-dimensional patterns can be felt at a touch.
The cup comes in two different shapes – bamboo hat and octagon – and both come with a tea tray, convex in the center to securely hold the base of the cup. The bright white inner wall, the various flowers along the outer surfaces, and the gold rim along the cup’s lip all come together to make this cup beautiful and remarkable, especially when paired with the same gaiwan.
