This travel set includes 1 teapot, 4 cups, 1 bamboo tea tray, and 1 leather bag. The bag contains thick foam filling to provide a safer way to hold and transport everything held inside, and the tray is made of two pieces: a bamboo top and a melamine resin dump tray, which is non-toxic, odorless, and sturdy with a high heat and corrosion resistance.
The Ge Yao teaware in this set were produced in Dehua, and are notable for their characteristic plum-green color and smooth, shiny glaze, spiderwebbed with many small Kai Pian, or cracks. Different from other traditional types of teapots, the design of the pot’s handle on the side gives it a sense of ancient rhythm and timeworn value. The cups are round and cute with a smooth, inconspicuous groove along the middle of the bodies, providing a better grip when drinking.
With extended use, the color of the tea liquid will gradually seep into the Kai Pian along the surfaces and color them, bringing out their appearance and beauty. This is a natural phenomenon of Ge Yao and is part of its beauty.
