This pot differs from the ordinary design standard of purple clay teapots in which the spout, knob, and handle all follow one line; this handmade Tangyu teapot is more similar to the Yushang type of teapot, used for brewing tea in ancient times, in that the handle and spout form a 90-degree angle. Additionally, the spout, handle, and lid knob are all made of Jiaoni, which requires exceptional skill from the craftsman to properly accomplish.
